I just got a AP 113 and luckily after having the lock drilled out and replaced i did find a manual inside it. I'm trying to get into test or free mode to check which motors are shot etc. but the last button required to confirm entering free mode is the coin return button. When i press it nothing happens.
So i looked closer at the coin return button and found that there is no coin changer in the machine. This is fine in that i want to have this in my house with everything free... but i feel like it may need the changer to operate properly.
My questions are:
1. do i need a coin changer to operate the unit?
2. Should the coin return button operate without a coin changer?
3. can i simply put in a momentary switch on and wire it into the coin changer plug somehow... if so, what pins?
thanks!
Matt
mattrourke,
All most all vending machines have to have coinmech to work, whether you want to use coins or not. A used coinmech on ebay isn't that expensive ($50-75). Be sure to check the service manual to find out the exact model # you need for that machine. It should list several choices.
