I just purchased a Dixie Narco 180CC/S11-5. It has a Tellevend dollar receiver. I have been reading about this model, and I learned that the red LED on the dollar mechanism is not on. I also notice that I can vend without putting any money in the machine. Can someone instruct me how to add a fee to vend. I opened the change mechanism and see three toggle switches, not the usual 6 or 7. Any assistance is appreciated.
It could be several things:
1. Someone may have modified the machine to free vend by re-wiring some of the connections, look for added or changed wires to vend solenoid etc. You will need a wiring shematic for this and/or knowledge of single price Dixie-Narco wiring.
2. I would unplug the bill acceptor and see if it will work with coins, if so you have a bad bill acceptor. Replace it.
3. The coin mech & bill acceptor work together, so upplug coin mech & either swap it with a known good one or have it tested.
3. If both the bill acceptor & coin mech are good & you don't have any free vend wiring changes you probably have a wiring problem/connection issue somewhere else in the vending machine. You will need to track that down connection by connection.
Wiring issues suck, I have junked vending machines because of it.
