Hello everyone,
I hope someone can assist me with this. My office was given an old Snacktron 2 snack machine a couple years ago. I had to install a new bill validator in it (MEI VN 2501). The machine has operated with no problems for 2 years. I only charge minimum prices for the snacks because we aren't trying to profit from it. Probably bad choice, since now I have no money to fix it. :-( Anyway, the bill validator appears to be working properly, as it takes the bill, the lights reflect it is working correctly, yet the machine does not credit the $1, and it will not give back coins if the return is pressed. The bill is just sent to the bill stacker and the customer is out of money. That works out for me as a great way to make a profit, but I have a lot of cranky co-workers until I give them their money back. I would like to know if this is a problem with the bill validator even though it appears to be working fine, or is this a problem with the circuit board on the machine. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

bajahot1,
Important- uplug machine power first! Some older electronics can be damaged by un-plugging hot.
First check your wiring harness connections, unplug/plug in/wiggle wiring harnesses, then plug back in to see if you have a connection problem.
Second if it's not the wiring connections, disconect validator and take to repair facilty or rebuilder to have it put on testing machine.
If those are not the problem then the only thing leftbis the motherboard.
Hope this helps,
