I am new to the vending business and just recently bought a machine that works great, except the dollar acceptor doesn't seem to turn on. Does anyone know if there is some kind of a switch to turn on to make it work right? The make is a Conlux.

I don't know of any switch. It plugs into the machine motherboard if it's an MDB/SIID, etc. or the changer if a single price machine. If it's plugged in and the rest of the machine is working then sounds like you should get the validator(bill accepter) 'benched' by a local conlux distributor. If it's bad they should have new or rebuilt ones for sale.

Just a Note:
Even though there is always exceptions to every rule, All bill acceptors will go through a start up when powered up. Usually the drive belts will run then the stacker will run. (exception VFM series vali won't run at startup without stacker). If it doesn't go through a startup then something with the vending machine is the problem 95% of the time. If it won't take the bill at all but starts up then it is being disabled by the "its ok to accept circuit". (i.e. coinmech or machine controlboard)98%. If it takes a bill then rejects it then it has validator issues. With the Conlux post I would say the vending machine may be the problem not the bill acceptor. There are Power supply issues with Maka/Conlux but haven't seen many with the Conlux. Knowing which model would narrow the problem. Just a thought.
