conlux will not try taking a bill

Hello I have pop machine with a Conlux NB2-16A-400 bill accepter and CoinCo 9302-l coin mech and it will not try to take a bill in, when I power the machine up the bill accepter will cycle and if I put a bill in it when it cycles it trys to pull it in but once powered up I does nothing. This machine has sat outside for years but I have cleaned the coin mech and everything else on the machine works,it gives change,no lights on except for a red light inside the coin mech by the 3 micro switchs it stays on steady. Also it says inside only machine on the back will it hurt to put it outside?

65chevelle, I am not familiar

65chevelle,
I am not familiar with that exact model of Conlux validator but with validator`s in general if they won't take a dollar in at all (start up cycling doesn't count) the validator is dirty or bad. First manually try cleaning the front sensors and try to run a validator cleaning card through it. If that doesn't work then probably something internal in validator is broke. While you can take them to be 'benched' at a repair shop (approx.$60+
parts) it will quite often be cheaper buying a used or re-manufactured replacement. Check with anyone of the various vending parts sellers on the web or Ebay.
As for putting an indoor machine outside.....I admit to having done it a couple of times with snack machines, I put on lots of weatherstripping and only used fairly old model machines in case something bad happened (bad storm or break-in). Also where you are located is a factor, I am in southern CA were it rains 2 weeks a year. If you are located in St.louis, MO and it rains every other week that's going to be a different story.
Hope this helps,
daryl
