Sold Out?

I have just received a machine from a friend. Initially, it would not accept coins, just bypass them directly to the coin container without vending product. I purchased a MARS TRC-6800H to replace the one that was in it. Now the machine is saying SOLD OUT and keeps rejecting the Money. It is a Cavalier Mod: 2CX390MB1 (10 selection Pespi) but I cannot find anything on the internet about how to track down the problem. I am assuming that since the machine is saying it is out or product, that is the reason that it will not accept the money. All 10 Slots are somewhat filled with pop and the out of product relay on each column is depressed, so it is full. I just put the product in, does it have to be cold to be able to vend. I am new to this and really, really need some help on figuring this one out. Any help would be appreciated.

whwilsonc2,

whwilsonc2,
Since you have a single-price coin mech, I will assume your machine is a single-price machine. Coins falling straight through on this type can be several things, but most commonly it is an open circuit. Check your vend motors to make sure they are in the home position like in pic below red arrow points to micro-switch levers ,1 should be up and 1 down in notch. (This is the only pic of a Cavalier vend motor I could find as I have not seen a Cavalier in over 10 years, so I hope it is at least similar to yours.) Check each motor and make sure that all 10 are in home position. If they are not push on the micro-switches and manually cycle them. If they don't stop in the correct position you have motor brake problem see this post here for how to fix a sticky brake: http://www.vend-resource.com/forum-topic/dixie-narco-dncb-240138-6-need-...
If that doesn't work there could be some other issues and a more in depth post is here: http://www.vend-resource.com/forum-topic/coins-keep-returning

Hope this helps,
daryl

Daryl,

Daryl,
Thanks for the reply. I will give that a shot and let you know what I find out. The pic you attached looks almost identical to my mech so I hope that my rectify the problem.

working

Daryl, the machine is working. I had to get a new coin mechanism. I ordered one 1st and they sent me the wrong one, a TRC-6000H, mine uses the TRC-6800H. Working great now. Now two questions you may be able to help me with. The person I ordered the part from told me to keep the 6000 and just sent me the 6800 because it was their mistake, so now I would like to trade the 6000 for a 6800. The 6000 was refurb in april 2013. Secondly, mine is a three deep machine and I am missing one of my gates (the front gate-which is the taller one) and i cannot find a replacement for it. Any ideas on where to look. Thanks so much for your help!

Sell the Mars 6000 on ebay....

whwilsonc2,
Sell the Mars 6000 on ebay, there is a pretty good market there for old coin mechs. Then buy the one you want from ebay.
As for the gate I don't know what to tell you, Cavalier is out of business and you will just have to call vending machine parts companies until you get lucky. Or you could make one yourself out of channel steel from Home Depot.
