All Dixie Narco soda machines are outdoor rated.

Depending on the model you have you can disconnect power to the light ballast and light circuit which will prevent any short circuits caused by rain. If this is an old stack machine with the ballast in the bottom of the door then the power connection is under a metal cover on the bottom of the door that all the wire harnesses go through. The lights are a two wire circuit connected at a two wire white connection. You don't say why you think the light circuit is the cause of the GFI trips but your issue could be just about any circuit in the door of a stack vendor. From the factory there was a strip of weatherstrip on the top inside edge of the door under the security plate. There is also a rubber gasket around the inner door that seals against the outer door and the inside cabinet when the machine is secured.

What you need to do is look for evidence of water on any 110v components in the machine when it rains, such as the coin mech and validator connections, the selection panel and all along the cabinet harnesses. Make sure that you have a properly grounded machine with a working ground pin on your power plug in the wall, that there is a ground wire from the main power distribution block to the cabinet as well as a ground wire from the main harness (to the right of the distribution block) to the cabinet, sometimes a ground from the light harness to the door, a ground from the inner door to the outer door and sometimes a ground from the coin mech panel to the door frame.

Also make sure that the machine isn't leaning forward allowing water to run off the cabinet toward the door. The machine should be level but leaning back just a little bit won't hurt it. You should also not have it sitting under the eave of a roof that pours water onto the cabinet. The machine is not designed to withstand a deluge of water from that.
