Vendo 407 Bill Acceptor not working! Help!

I have some Vendo Machines and all of them came with mei bill acceptor so I will assume that is what you have as well as they are usually 24 V Not the 120v ones this is how I would troubleshoot
Number one make sure it is plugged up
Number two open door
Number three look at the back of the bill validator in the bottom you should see a red LED light
You would want the LED like to be solid and not flashing
If it is flashing usually the box that holds the bills has a sticker on it that tells you what the flash codes mean
If there is no light at all then check to see if it is plugged into the Y connector that comes from the machine to the coin validator and to the Bill validator is connected and look at your coin validator to see if it has power on it i'm sorry I do not remember off the top of my head the wiring harness to tell you which PiN would give you the 24 V using a DMM or a digital multimeter to check for voltage if you have done all that and you still have the light on the back of the bill validator then it is probably has a bad circuit board or some other problem that is Beyond my capabilities and I always send them out for repair at that point although I will change the belts on these units to save money I do not recommend it unless you have really spent a lot of time to figure it out after that it becomes easier to change the belts
Always remove the cash box off the back of the bill validator to look at the belts in there as well as to clean the optics you do that by raising little metal bar up in and out
Now if the light is flashing it could be something just as simple as the cash bar wasn't mounted properly or the coin validator has insufficient coins to get any money back in the machine is therefore put the dollar bill validator out of service I would put some money in the coin validator and you will see the control box of metal box mounted next to the validator that is usually the silver looking there's a button inside to get the brain box the main brain box has a button you can push that button and it will reset the build I would put some money in the coin validator I do not recall what the minimum amount is but it is also programmable so you don't know what the Level was set for then you can cycle power on the machine by unplugging and plugging it back up are you can find the brain box which is a little bit above waist high on the front door it's a silver box and they'll be a button to reset it

Did the vendo 407 use 24 volts or 110 volts, I seem to remember the 407's being pre 24 volt. My apologies if I am mistaken.

The Vendo 407 uses a 110-117 volts. The simple way to replace your bill acceptor is to read the make and model number of the current one and buy the exact same one, that way you won't have to buy a new wiring harness or deal with voltage issues. You can just plug in the replacement.
