Polyvend repair help

Hello, so recently I bought myself a used old polyvend machine. I believe the model may be an R40, however I do know that it was made around 1995. I was able to successfully test all the motors and see them all work, the only issue I seem to be having is setting the price on the machine and with the bill acceptor. My machine does not have a coin acceptor, however I thought I could try to bypass this by placing it on force vend and only allowing bills to be accepted.

The bill acceptor I have is a Coinco BA32SA. It blinks 5 times which indicates a bill jam, however there is no bill stuck upon checking. When I try to change the price on the machine, it will tell me that I have an Error code 3 which indicates the control board has lost communication with the changer.

I was wondering if it would be okay to use the machine without a coin acceptor and how to get rid of these messages so that it may become functional.

Operate A PolyVend Without A Coin mech/changer?

Ibrahim S,
As far as I know you can not operate that machine without a coin mechanism. The validator signals the coin mech how many dollars it recieved and the coin mech then tells the machine to vend the product and gives back change.
Used coin mechs are usually not that expensive, between $50 to $150 most times. I am not real familiar with Polyvends, but quite often the make & model #'s of coin mechs that will work with a machine are printed inside the door on a label. That makes ordering one easy.
