Coin Mech on a Vendo soda machine 'jackpots' in the coin return.

Ok guys, I got a weird problem, on a Vendo Coke single price machine with a Coinco 3340 coin mech & BA-30 validator, and every once in a while it will get stuck paying out change, it will compleatly fill the coin return slot and overflow! It has happened 2 times in the last 6 months but by the time I get there the customer has unplugged the machine and when I plug it in it is working fine? Any ideas what could be wrong?
