Dixie Narco 600e help

I just purchased a Dixie Narco 600e for $25 it cools great , but is missing the coin changer and bill acceptor. The S2D e (SiiD) is there , but nothing is plugged into the

p1 connection which from the schematics is power in . I cannot find any traces of this plug, nor the transformer shown in the schematics. If anyone has this machine can

you post a picture of where this should be to help me out.

Thanks in advance

SIID S2D controller board help.

circello,
There are 3 types SII controller boards for Dixie-Narco soda vending machines. The connectors are different between an SIID (S2D) and an SIIDE (S2DE), I know because the connection ports are slightly different on S2DE (SIIDE) than on an S2D (SIID). As for an old SII or S2 I don't own one, so I am not much help there. Here is a picture of all 3 types of Dixie-Narco controller boards SII (S2), SIID (S2D), SIIDE (S2DE) with each one labeled.

Anyways I was out working on an SIID the other day and took some pics for you, they are the pictures below.
This one is with the board (SIID or S2D) in the machine with wiring harnesses plugged in to the board.

This next picture is of the wiring harnesses removed so you can each one.

Hope they help you some.
If you need more help just reply back on this post here and I'll be glad to help.

Ty, Mine is the S2DE(third in your list) The machine is missing the Coin changer and Bill acceptor. When I plug it in The unit gets cold , but there is no readout on the display. I also see that nothing is plugged into P1 on the S2DE. I do not know where to start, Any ideas?

Dixie-Narco S2DE controller board help

circello,
The display is ran by the controller board if you have no power to the controller it will not display anything.
The power in is just the power cord end with a white connector. Starting at the wall outlet, the power cord runs in and connects to a receptacle that the compressor also plugs into in the front of the machine (lower left with door open), a power cord runs up to the controller board from there. The schematics are also in the back of Dixie-Narco Operation Manual, it is available in pdf for download here on our site: Dixie-Narco S2 (SII) Series Operation Manual
I do not see a transformer listed on the schematic (the ballast is for the fluorescent lights) and is in the bottom of the door, but I know some SIID controllers get their power from a small transformer.
I will be servicing a Dixie-Narco machine with the exact type of S2DE (SIIDE) controller board that you have on weds or thurs and I will take another and better picture for you.
In the mean time why don't you upload a nice picture of your board with what plugs you have connected to it?

You have an S2DE

circello,
First off I made a small mistake and circled the wrong plug in the picture. I corrected the picture, the power plug is not showing but the arrow was/is pointing to the correct port for power in on an S2D (SIID). But you have an S2DE which is a little different.
It looks like you have got all your cables and are just missing your power cable. Before you go and buy a validator and coin mech, let's be sure you board is working, by finding the white power connector or buying a power cable.
Let's start looking for the power cable by starting at the plug in the wall, follow it to the receptacle in the lower left front of machine. Acouple of wires should head out of this receptacle for the vend circuits.
And the wiring diagram for it is in this picture:

Now you need to follow the wires that goes to the vending circuit and follow them until you find the connector for the controller (or the cut-off end of the wire if somebody scavenged it). Since this is an SIIDE it might go to a transformer and then to the controller board(or not if some one scavenged it). If it's there then plug it in to your controller board and if your display lights up chances are you board is good. If not, it might or not be bad, reply back and I'll tell you what you need to tell the difference.
Once you know your board is good I'll also tell what you need finish up.

Lost

I cannot find the plug Strange thing is everything looks original

The schematic from the door is what I am missing I think. It shows p1 connected to main group of wires

No you have an unusual situation.....

circello,
I serviced a Dixie today with an S2DE in it and I have loaded a picture below with explanations. In your picture I see this little white plug and it looks like part of the power plug for your S2DE, I circled it here in your picture:

If you look in the picture of my S2DE (below), I drew an arrow to where it look like it connects. You appear to be missing the short plug, wire and P1 plug that connects it to the board power at (P1). You also appear to be missing the green wire (it is a ground wire, you can see it connects to the metal frame of the machine in my pic, easy to replace).
More importantly you are missing the 4 wires 2 red wires and 2 ?color? wires that also connect from P1 plug to a transformer (shown in your schematic), you might look look around that area and see if you can find a couple of red wires and 2 ?color? wires in a black wire wrap (see my pic)
Here is the plug/wire arrangment on an S2DE of mine with the white plug and a red arrow pointing to it:

I will try and follow my 2 red/2 ?? wires to a transformer if it is there, and upload a pic for you. It will be a couple of days till I service that location again.

New Pictures of S2DE wiring ALL wires found!

circello,
I uploaded a clearer picture of the wires in the wire harness at P1 and a picture of where the transformer is and where the wires run from P1 to it. Here's what we got:
2 AC power wires (1 black,1 white) from the plastic plug to the wire harness at P1.
1 Green ground wire from the P1 wire harness to the metal cabinet.
2 Red wires from the P1 wire harness to the transformer.
2 Wires (1 black,1 white)(AC?) from the P1 wire harness to the transformer.

The picture below shows the color and location of the wires in P1 wire harness.

The picture below shows the location of the transformer. The transformer can easily be mistaken for the fluorescent lights transformer because of where it is at. The wires (in a black wire wrap) run along the backside of the top panel from transformer and go through a hole to the S2DE's P1 wire harness. The transformer location is circled in red and the wires path is marked with red arrows.

Since somebody apparently scavenged your P1 connector they may have took your transformer and it's wires also. Once you find out what's missing let me know and I will try and find the used parts for you. Or you can call Dixie if you want new parts they might still have them available, expect the wire harneses to be $25up and the transformer - ??.
hope this helps,
daryl
