Welcome to my first post here.. :) I notice there is not a lot of action here on the general forum, but hopefully this post will be noticed.
Anyhoo, I am just getting my feet wet in the wonderful world of vending. For now I am focusing on the DN product line of the coke machines.
As you all can imagine I have many, many questions so if you all will indulge me here is my first one..
I have noticed that within the 276 family there are what appears to me to be several "sub models". What I am currently looking at now is the DN 276, the DN 276E and the DNCB 276.
What I really would like to know what to the E and the CB stand for and what modifications were done. I have tried to figure it out by searching online but I have had no luck what-so-ever.
Here are my own observations so far:
I did notice another post on this very forum mentioning that the E series were deeper and allowed for taller bottles. Is my understanding of that correct? I have noticed that the DEX file on the 276E gives more detailed information. I have also noticed that the SIID-E board seems to populate the 276E machines. At least I haven't seen a DN 276 with a SIID-E board as of yet. I am assuming that the E board is the reason behind the more detailed data.
The DNCB 276 appears to also be an older model. Based on my understanding of the serial numbers they are probably manufactured sometime during the late 80's to 90's. But I could be wrong as I am merely going by my own observations.
Any help and/or helpful links would really be appreciated. And again, I would like to know more about what differentiates the DN 276E and the DNCB 276 from the DN 276.
I apologize for my post being so convoluted.
T H,
This post should be over in the 'help identifing vending machines' forum, so sorry I didn't see it sooner.:(
DN276E came after earlier versions (such as R, etc.) and you are correct, a dixie 'E' machine will handle taller bottles as it is about 2-3 inches deeper inside. While I have not noticed 'CB' letters on any of mine, I have seen posts on other sites that say CB refers to 'Can and Bottle' vendor. But many dixie-narco 501 non-E machines (e.g. my 'R' model) will handle some 20oz bottles (gatorade) just fine. Hope this helps a little.
Daryl :)
