GPL 159 Firmware

I am looking to put credit card readers on a number of my machines. The majority of my machines are gpl 159 and 160. I am looking at using USATechnolgies readers. They aid they will work on this model machine but the machine must have atleast version 160 09 running on the motherboard. I have checked only one so far but it has 160 04 it looks like. What do I have to do to upgrade the firmware? Do I ahve to replace the motherboards?

Updating ROM on National/GPL

Qualitas,
I looked at a motherboard the other day and it doesn't look like there are any chips in a socket(so they could be pulled). Anyways since you would have to buy any new ROM from GPL you probably should ask them.
