I have a Vendo 407 and when I bought a soda from it, the thing just kept spitting out sodas! The motor won't stop spinning, and it just dispensed all the sodas that were stocked in that slot. Has anyone else experienced this? Can anyone tell me how to fix it? I looked at the motor right next to it for comparison, but couldn't see any differences that would make one work and the other not. Thanks in advance for your help.
Joe,
sounds like your machine is "JACKPOTING".
This is usually caused by your vend motor brake sticking up and not stopping the motor after a vend. Refer to the picture of a vendo motor and brake In the picture the brake is the white plastic lever in the picture (red arrow pointing DOWN to it).
It could just be stuck in that case you probably should clean the brake, it is the plastic lever in the picture (red arrow pointing DOWN). It is hinged on one side, spray that with ammonia and water solution and work up and down a lot. If really stuck bad you may need to get a new brake or vend motor assembly.
It also could be that the spring is broke (the little spring pulls the brake back down to stop the motor). If it is broke you will need a new one.
Most new vending machine dealers have a parts department and should have one (spring or vend motor assembly) in stock.
hope this was helpful,
FRANK

Thanks for the reply Frank. The problem ended up being in the switch that the left red arrow is pointing at. That little white button underneath the silver switch wasn't popping back up causing the motor to spin endlessly. I found a local repair guy who did great work, and helped me out, but now I know for 2 things to look for if it ever happens again.
