Machine jackpotting

JMCrecovery,
It sounds like your machine is jackpotting (vending multiple cans for one payment). This is usually caused by the brake on a selection motor sticking and not stopping the motor. I have uploaded a pic of a Vendo vend motor and brake assembly. The red arrow is pointing to the white plastic brake, this is supposed to move up and down and stop the motor after one cycle, if it gets sticky/dirty or the little spring that you can see attached to it on the left is broke it won't work.
SAFTY FIRST! Unplug the machine before fixing the vend motors.
If the spring is broke you need to get a new one.
If the brake is sticking you need to clean it with some ammonia and water to get what is usually soda residue off of it, concentrate on the hinge where it is connected at. Work it up and down until it moves freely. Depending on how sloppy you were with the water you probably should let the machine sit and dry out first before plugging it back in. You don't want short out your vend motor or the machine :)
Hope this helps, if you any questions or problems let me know.
Daryl

jackpotting

The spring is there and the stop on mine seems to move freely. Any ideas why it's vending 2 and sometimes three cans?
